Fire Extinguisher Testing
Fire Extinguisher Testing/Maintenance will need to be carried out at least annually by a Fire Equipment Professional to ensure your fire extinguishers are viable in an emergency. Fire extinguishers are pressurized vessels that can explode when corroded or damaged, and have been known to cause serious injury and even death.
The second of these inspections must be carried out by an external Fire Protection and Detection Technician or the fire extinguisher manufacturer at least once a year. As part of the annual inspection it is required by I.S. 291:2002 that
- At least one third of all water and foam extinguishers will be test-discharged and refilled
- At least one fifth of dry powder and carbon dioxide extinguishers are test-discharged and refilled
The supply of new fire fighting equipment is manufactured and tested in accordance with BS:EN3 and has a five year warranty. We supply, commission, inspect, maintain, repair, and test all different types of portable fire extinguishers, fire hose reels and fire blankets. On completion an Annual Certificate Of Maintenance is issued listing the quantity and types of fire fighting equipment that have passed inspection.
